Villa chini
The whole area's architecture is influenced by the style of Galileo Chini. Not a world-famous artist, but inevitably talented one, he introduced the art nouveau style into Italy. He founded a ceramics factory that created colorful objects - they can be now observed in thousands of homes and museums. Galileo Chini built a vacation retreat in Versilia called Villa Chini which large sunny rooms, delightful ornamentation and century-old park can be admired now in this area.

The Apuan Alps have always been a meeting place for writers and sculptors. The Nicoli workshop is one of the most specialized sculpting studios. Different schools of sculpture, the Biennale Internazionale (International Biennial Sculpture Exhibition), the Fine Art Academy and the International "Bancarella" Prize have become a steady attraction not only for tourists.
