Villa chini
The whole area's architecture is influenced by the style of Galileo Chini. Not a world-famous artist, but inevitably talented one, he introduced the art nouveau style into Italy. He founded a ceramics factory that created colorful objects - they can be now observed in thousands of homes and museums. Galileo Chini built a vacation retreat in Versilia called Villa Chini which large sunny rooms, delightful ornamentation and century-old park can be admired now in this area.

The Apuan Alps have always been a meeting place for writers and sculptors. The Nicoli workshop is one of the most specialized sculpting studios. But there is also a dense calendar of cultural events which attract experts and visitors from all parts of the world throughout the year. In summer, there are numerous fairs where you can savour local products. In particular in the small rural villages of the hinterland food and wine tasting is organized.
